Pitched Roof Insulation
You can reduce the thickness for your roof, install time and even the need for secondary insulation by using either Low-E EZY Seal Insulation or Low-E PERF on any pitched roof. The large compact rolls are very easy to install, lightweight and mean you will have less material to transport and to handle on site.

Installing Pitched Roof Insulation
Quick, clean and very easy to install you can use Low-E Insulation EZY Seal (vapour barrier) on the internal side, or Low-E Insulation PERF (breathable) on the exterior side of any type of pitched roof. Low-E reflects heat, stops draughts and uncontrolled air movement, and will create a better performing insulation system than traditional materials on their own.
Pitched Roof Insulation Options
Low-E pitched roof insulation is ideal for insulating your home and is the perfect choice for an easy installation. If you are considering insulating your pitched roof please read through the below guides for the type of roof you have in your home.
Above & Below Rafter - Partial Fill
150mm rafters will leave more than enough room to install any type of secondary insulation. In this example, Low-E PERF and Low-E EZY Seal are counter battened above and below both layers.
Above Rafter – Partial Fill
In this example, Low-E PERF is installed over the rafters with a secondary insulation between the rafters before being counter battened and a breather membrane installed.
Below Rafter - Partial Fill
Rigid Foam is installed between the rafters and Low-E EZY Seal is installed below the rafters, before being counter battened and the finished ceiling is installed.
Above Rafter - Full Fill
Low-E PERF can be installed with a full fill of Mineral Fibre insulation between the rafters, before being counter battened and a breather membrane is installed.
Below Rafter – Full Fill
In this example, Low-E EZY Seal is installed on the underside of the rafter, with a full fill of the secondary insulation between the rafters, before counter battening and the finished ceiling is installed.
SIPS Panel – Upgrade
Low-E EZY Seal and Low-E PERF can be installed to replace the vapour barrier and breather membranes that are usually installed on a SIPS roof. This increases thermal performance and reduces the buildings running costs without adding any labour steps to the build process .
Dormer Inside
Low-E EZY Seal can be installed inside a dormer cheek to increase thermal performance and provides air tightness and moisture protection.
Dormer Outside
Low-E PERF can be installed on the exterior side of a dormer cheek to increase thermal performance and reduce draughts.
Dwarf Walls – Partial Fill
When installing Rigid Foam between the studs in a dwarf wall, Low-E EZY Seal can be installed on the internal side of the walls to increase thermal performance and provide air tightness and moisture protection.
Dwarf Walls – Full Fill
If you are using a Mineral Fibre to insulate between studs in a dwarf wall it can be hard to maintain airspaces on both sides of Low-E EZY Seal. In this example, the dwarf walls have a full fill of Mineral Fibre with Low-E EZY Seal installed on the internal side of the walls. A counter batten is then used to maintain an airspace and service void.
